Synopsis |
In this riveting drama, a cross-border affair takes on a dangerous political dimension.
Saleem, a Palestinian man, and Sarah, an Israeli woman, are involved in a casual affair. Sarah (Sivane Kretchner) owns a cafe in Jerusalem and lives with her husband David, an army colonel. Saleem (Adeeb Safidi), makes a living delivering baked goods in Jerusalem, often to Sarah's cafe, but his low pay and long hours have begun to cause tensions between himself and his pregnant wife, Bisan. While the affair itself is depicted as a means for both Saleem and Sarah to release the stress of their personal lives, neither of them appears to consider the possibility of their infidelity being discovered. When that happens, Sarah and Saleem find that not only are their personal lives at stake, but Israeli and Palestinian forces are conspiring against them.
