Synopsis |
Rodrigo Sorogoyen's latest film is a riveting political thriller set deep inside Spanish politics, a realm that, like so many other civic landscapes across the globe, is filled with corruption and dirty dealings that seek to benefit the powerful.
Antonio de la Torre stars as Manuel López-Vidal, a high-ranking career political operative who, in another film, may have served as our hero. But in this fast-paced thriller, Manuel is no exemplar of the public's trust, and he uses every tactic at his disposal to get ahead. Complicit in a slew of under-the-table dealings in policy that range from money laundering to white-collar crime, Manuel has survived in this seedy political terrain by playing the game like everyone else. But when a leaked tape surfaces, it appears as though these crimes may finally come to light. With the truth at risk of being exposed, Manuel may find himself taking the fall for the whole party. |
