about us

Mission Statement

The mission of the Rochester International Film Group is to inform, enlighten and enrich the lives of individuals and our diverse communities through the art of film presented in an annual festival of current, high quality international, domestic and Minnesota-made independent cinema.

Audience

Our target audience is the general public in southeastern Minnesota, including children (9-12), young adults, adults and seniors.  This includes people with disabilities.   We also target language interest groups and all ethnic groups living in the area.

Volunteering

We are always looking for volunteers to help, primarily with our Spring film festival.  We need people to help distribute posters, staff the information booth at the festival and get the word out. Please email us or send a message to our RIFG Facebook page, Twitter or Instagram. if you are interested in being an RIFG volunteer.

RIFG Activities

Film Festival: RIFG presents an international film festival in the spring at a local movie theater in conjunction with the Minneapolis St Paul Film Society.

Library Series: RIFG cosponsors the Film Movement video series, iFILMS: International and Independent Films at the Rochester Public Library.
Other Activities: RIFG promotes film related and fund raising activities sponsored by cooperating local organizations (example: RIA, Rochester Art Center).

Funding

We are supported by individual and business donations and grants.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.

RIFG is a 501c3 organization and donations are tax deductible. Consider sending a check to:
