Synopsis |
Shot over the course of three winters in North Dakota, The Bakken is a series of cinematic portraits of the people who work the oil fields. Struggling against a desolate natural, social, and financial environement, the many people who trek to the Bakken seeking wealth are instead brought face-to-face with loneliness, despair, and a system that drains them of their labor and gives them just enough money to keep them in North Dakota, working the oil.
