Synopsis |
As the Ebola outbreak unfolded, the world watched, and Doctors Without Borders responded. Filmed in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, the story starts in the remote village of Meliandou where the first victim was identified. Affliction explores many different aspects of the outbreak: village chiefs, patients, survivors and aid workers talk about the fear and rejection, stigma, impact of quarantine, mortality, the failure of the international response, the lack of adequate medical treatment and the complex reality facing those who have survived Ebola. Given unlimited access to Doctors Without Borders, Affliction captures the story behind the headlines.
